About Me

Carol McNiven Young FRPS EFIAP/s BPE5* DPAGB is an award-winning photographer who specialises in creative and artistic portraiture. She is a Royal Photographic Society Fellow and Distinctions Assessor, a PAGB judge and regularly judges national and international salons. She also gives photographic lectures.

I am an amateur photographer who loves making images that I consider to be beautiful. However, I will readily admit that some turn out to be rather less beautiful than others! I enjoy all genres of photography but I am at heart addicted to ‘creative portraiture’ and spend part of every single day imagining, planning, shooting or editing my images.

I like to share my passion for self-development with others and enjoy judging & critiquing images and offering personal mentoring. I am the N&EMPF Judges and Lecturers Secretary
and enjoy supporting my Federation’s team of dedicated and hard-working judges.

I also offer lectures designed to motivate aspiring photographers and to dispel some of the mystery around the photographic and editing techniques that I use in my work. I am a target-driven person and enjoy entering competitions and pursing distinctions.
